Some employers have noted that it can be difficult to find qualified radiologic technologists. After completing your medical radiography education at the, you will be well trained and capable of filling these openings. Though hospitals are the most common employer, some physicians’ offices and diagnostic imaging centers also employ radiologic technologists.

You will receive both classroom instruction and real-world experience in your medical radiography education at the. After completing your two-year program, you will be ready to take a national exam to become a registered radiologic technologist. Your certification will give the flexibility to take on a variety of positions to suit your lifestyle.

While most radiographers spend much of their day working at diagnostic machines, some also travel to patients in specially equipped vans. Though 40 hour work weeks are the norm, you can also find part time positions, as well as work environments in which you are assigned shifts. With additional training and experience, you can also become a specialist in conducting specific examinations such as CT scans and MRIs, or assume a supervisory position in your department.

The medical radiography program at the is offered in Arizona at the Phoenix Westside campus and at the Spokane campus in Washington. You can complete your degree at either campus, taking courses that best fit into your schedule. It’s the ideal program if you are working to put yourself through school. Keep in mind, though, that the also offers financial grants and loans that can help you finance your education if you want to attend full time.
